Each passage is followed by a set of questions that assess a range of listening skills, including comprehension of main ideas and specific details, understanding of tone and attitude, and ability to follow the flow of a conversation or lecture.

Writing: The writing section of the IELTS test consists of two tasks. In task 1, test takers are asked to describe and analyze a visual diagram, such as a chart, graph, or table. The writing section assesses a range of writing skills, including organization, coherence, cohesion, and ability to express ideas and opinions clearly and effectively.

In part 3, test takers are asked to discuss abstract ideas related to the topic in part 2.
