Why to take PTE
The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a computer-based English language proficiency test that is widely recognized by universities, colleges, and governments around the world. The test assesses the English language skills of non-native speakers in the areas of listening, reading, writing, and speaking.
PTE Structure Overview
Listening: The listening section of the PTE test consists of several audio clips, including lectures, conversations, and oral presentations. Test takers will have to listen to the clips and answer multiple-choice questions, fill in the blanks, highlight the correct summary, or select the missing word or phrase.
Reading: The reading section of the PTE test consists of several texts, including academic and non-academic materials. Test takers will have to read the texts and answer multiple-choice questions, fill in the blanks, or select the correct summary or the missing word or phrase.
Writing: The writing section of the PTE test consists of two tasks, the first task requires test takers to write an essay of around 200-300 words based on a given prompt. The second task requires test takers to summarize a given passage in 70 words or less. Test takers are also expected to demonstrate a clear and organized argument and use appropriate grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation.
Speaking: The speaking section of the PTE test consists of several questions, including reading aloud, repeating a sentence, describing an image, and answering questions based on an audio or video clip. Test takers are expected to communicate effectively, fluently, and with good pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary.
